WISDOM

"Appointment with the King"

Prayer is an appointment I keep

with our Chief Physician and King.

I must be prepared to fight the devil

from all temptation he'll bring.

Woe is me if I begin each day

before eating my daily bread.

I put on the garment of Christ,

and miss not what He's said.

I may have to wake up early

or tell someone to wait.

I'll do whatever it takes -

I don't want to be late!

No matter what time it is;

it's the time I'm willing to give;

How can I neglect such honor

Who gives living water to live?

Inspirational Quotes:

"It's better to pray at the start of the day than later in the day."

"It's one thing to miss your doctor's appointment;

it's another to miss the King's."

"Love and Pray"

Practice love in what you do and say

and

Pray as if it's your very last day.

Practice love in showing you care

and

Pray as if it's your very last prayer.

Perfect love is God through you

and

Powerful prayer is fervent and true.

Plan to love and when to start

and

Persist in prayer with a clean, pure heart.

"Be Thankful"

Remember those without arms or legs

the next time you feel low.

Be thankful for the body you have.

You're more blessed than you know.

Remember the blind,

and those who can't hear.

Be thankful for your sight,

and the sounds in your ear.

Some are in wheel chairs,

cannot read, write, or talk.

Be thankful for your mind,

and the ability to walk.

Some have a disease,

or living on life support.

Be thankful for your health;

that your life is not cut short.

Some without food,

enduring heat and cold.

Be thankful for your home.

What's yours to them is gold.

Some without a family,

friends, husband or wife.

Be thankful for those you have;

that you're not alone in life.

Don't take anything for granted

or the ones who love you.

Be thankful for what you have,

and what you can do.

"Be Like a Child"

Don't think less of a child

or think you're more mature.

They have a heart I seek -

Soft, innocent, and pure.

Unaware that I'm there,

when they're playing pretend.

I love when they talk to Me -

I'm their imaginary friend.

In pursuit of discovery

of the things in the world,

there's an eagerness to learn

in every boy and girl.

Children believe what you say,

and never have a doubt.

They trust in your word,

expecting it to come about.

They look up to you -

you're taller, wiser, and strong.

But don't look down on them.

My kingdom is where they belong.

Their hearts are filled with heaven -

full of adventure and fun.

You, too, will be like a child

when your new Life has begun.

"Born Again"

"Lord, what will happen to me,

now that I'm born again?"

"My child, you'll discover

a change in you will begin."

"What will change, Lord?

Will I be more like You?"

"Follow Me, My child,

and you'll behave like I do."

"Lord, will my thoughts change,

and even the words I say?"

"My child, my seed is in you now.

You'll grow in every way."

"How is it possible, Lord,

to leave the past behind?"

"Daily, read My Word, My child,

to help renew your mind."

"Lord, will I change quickly

or need time to grow?"

"My child, you know that answer -

it takes a lifetime, you know."

"My friends won't like it, Lord,

if I am no longer me."

"It's not about you, My child -

It's about Me in you they see."

"Lord, now that I'm born again,

what am I to do?"

"My child, read the Bible,

pray, and love others, too."

"God's Word"

If we hear God's Word,

and continue to believe,

the Holy Spirit dwells in us,

and God's seal we receive.

If our cares choke God's Word,

and the devil steals that seed,

we miss the opportunity

for our soul's greatest need.

If we, indeed, plant God's Word

in the soil of our heart,

we, too, must guard our mind -

this place, the thief will start.

If we grow in God's Word,

and that seed becomes a tree,

we will produce good fruit

for everyone to see.

"Sowing and Reaping"

Notice how Jesus talked;

He spoke in authority.

The power of the tongue is this:

It creates what you want to be.

When you give in faith,

tell your seed to grow.

Say what you're believing for.

Name the seeds you sow.

When farmers want food to eat,

they plant seeds of choice.

This method calls in a harvest,

but with you - you have your voice.

Next time, give your seed a name,

and plant it in good ground.

Find soil that exalts Jesus;

You'll reap all year round.

Don't forget - it takes time.

Words are sunshine; faith is rain.

While it grows, don't give up

or lose all you've gained.

Be careful what you say.

Negative words are like weeds

that kills your crop and curse your life.

Words are even seeds.

Jesus taught us how to live:

Only believe, and not doubt.

We reap what we sow,

but it takes a lifetime to figure that out.

*...whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap. (Galatians 6:7)

"The Way"

Don't take the road that leads to shame -

the path of suffering and of trials.

It is long and lonely.

An eternity of miles.

I've given you My Word,

that it might give you light.

It will lead you where to go.

But by faith, not by sight.

I've seen too many people

disobey My law.

But I'm a merciful God,

and still carry their fall.

Beloved, do not be like them,

who follow after sin.

It started in the garden,

and since, it's always been.

Death is knocking on your door,

but do not let it in.

I wrote My Word to save you

because you are My friend.

Stay on the road that leads to Life

of perfect love and peace.

It is long and joyful,

where gold streets never cease.

"Find Your Gift"

Every person has a purpose -

a gift in every man.

There's a reason for all I do.

I always have a plan.

Every child I create

is different from the rest.

In them lies a strength

that only they do best.

Just as I made animals

to swim, walk, and fly,

so you find your skill

to be used if you try.

Exercise your talent.

It's what you're here to do.

Take time to look inside.

There's a gift you never knew.

Use what you've been given

for the needs of those around.

How can you help people

if your gift isn't found?

"Run Your Course"

Don't compare yourself with others.

You have your course to run.

Don't focus on them

or fret about what they've done.

What they have - you desire.

Who they are - you wish you'd be.

Like a horse with blinders on -

it's better not to see.

You're on a different course.

None race the path you do.

No mountains alike,

obstacles and valleys you go through.

When you run, don't look behind -

your past will hold you back.

Don't look to the left or right -

distractions get you off track.

You can't go around your course -

just one way to the other side.

Endure your race as I did Mine...

to the cross where I died.

"Choose Your Shoes"

Every day, you wake up,

and choose what to wear -

either clean, durable shoes

or a dirty, worn-out pair.

Sadly, many choose the old

instead of putting on the new.

Broken shoes aren't thrown away

because they don't want to.

Don't get stuck in the past.

Your shoes go where you go.

You can't go forward in life

with your head hung low.

Will you take off those shoes -

the ones not fit to last?

You've outgrown that pair.

You're so much bigger than your past.

Why settle for less,

and keep wearing what is used?

In Me, you are royalty...

Choose to walk in My shoes.

"Shake It Off"

Did someone offend you?

Shake off what they said.

Don't give the devil a foothold.

Trample serpents, instead.

The enemy knows your weakness.

He's aware of what you do.

He works through certain people

to target hurting you.

If you pray for that person,

I will help you to forgive.

A snake bite is deadly -

therefore, choose to live.

*Behold, I give you the authority to trample on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy, and nothing shall by any means hurt you.  (Luke 10:19)

*A person’s wisdom yields patience (slow to anger);
it is to one’s glory to overlook an offense.
(Proverbs 19:11)

*Fools show their annoyance (anger, quick-tempered) at once,
but the wise overlook an insult.
